Founder of the popular blog Design Milk, Jaime Derringer is chronicling a renovation of her midcentury-modern New Jersey home. Derringer is in the process of updating her kitchen, transforming it into a fresh, contemporary space. Marvin Windows and Doors is playing a pivotal role. Keith Coleman of Hamilton Building Supply Company (a trusted Marvin Dealer) is planning on using Marvin Ultimate Sliding French Doors and Flat Casing to replace Derringer's outdated vinyl sliding glass doors (shown above).
Custom-built to match the home's exact opening and décor, Marvin’s Ultimate Sliding French doors are thoughtfully designed with extra-wide stiles, tall bottom rails, and smooth top-sliding screens for effortless use and enhanced energy efficiency. With 19 exterior clad color varieties, it was easy to find a French door that spoke to Jaime's style. "The windows and doors are the stars of our home, and therefore I wanted to stay true to the original design and create a full wall of glass where the focus is on the view. It was important for me to select a door design that was simple with clean lines to hold true to the midcentury-modern design of our home, but also to complement the high-end products and materials used in the kitchen."
The renovation will take place over the next few months. Check out marvin.com/adremodel for videos and progress updates.
