You may not know that New York’s Lincoln Center, celebrated as the world’s largest performing arts center, is also a renowned publisher of fine contemporary art. Its signed-and-numbered, limited-edition prints do double duty to brighten up any space and support Lincoln Center’s performance and education programs.

The brainchild of visionary arts patron Vera List, this 50-year old project remains at the forefront of art trends, commissioning work by notable artists such as Chuck Close, Kenny Scharf, and Terry Winters. Works from the project have been purchased by discerning collectors, corporations, and institutions around the world.

The most recent print is by legendary artist Barbara Kruger, who began her career as a designer for Condé Nast publications. Known for her pithy declarative captions, Kruger took her cue from Lincoln Center’s status as a premier cultural venue to title her work, Culture Vulture.

Kruger is currently in the news for her monumental installation Belief + Doubt, which opened at the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden in Washington, D.C. on August 20.  She is also justly famous for her cover art for W magazine’s November 2010 art issue.
